Killeens and Kelly Famlies of Woodford Parish - looking for anyone from these families who are still in the area. Trying to find cousins and other siblings of Martin and Bridget. I have a lot of information about their children who came to Massachusetts and settled in the western part of the state and names and godparents of children of son Peter and his wife, Ellen Roughan.
Looking forward to "meeting new family and or friends".

Eileen:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Can you clarify when Martin Killeen and Bridget Kelly were living in Ireland? When you indicate Woodford parish you are referring to the RC parish in southeast Co. Galway? Do you know the townland where they lived?

Roger:
I think they were born about 1810 since their first son, Peter, was born in January 1833 [or it might have been his baptismal date] according to records in the R.C. church in Woodford, eastern area of County Galway. The last information I have for Martin is in the Griffiths Valuation. Martin must have died between 1856 and 1866 because Bridget died at Peter's home in Flesk on the 19th of March 1866, as a widow. The family originally lived in the townland of Gorteeny.
Do you think you might be related to them? I will look forward to learning what you think.
Thank you for responding to my query.

I'm one of the volunteers who responds to messages and I don't have any connections in East Galway. The records for the parish start in 1821 so you won't find a baptismal record for Martin. Civil registration of deaths started in 1864 so likely Martin died before then as you pointed out.
