Any information of this family would be appreciated. From Michael McCormick to his son Shepherd McCormick, believed buried at the Abbey, New Ross - but which abbey?
Many thanks in advance,

Shepard McCormick born New Ross, 26th January 1791. Christened St Marys, New Ross. Made Commander Royal Navy. Died Dublin Feb. 1852, buried The Abbey New Ross 1852. Believed St Marys Abbey, town of New Ross, but would like confirmation. Appears in OByrnes, Naval Bibliography. Father one Michael McCormick of New Ross. Mother was. Dorothy.. Michael played a part with General Johnson, in protecting New Ross, during the rebellion of 1798, and was said to be the aid-de-camp to the general. Thanks, Warwick. Please note ammendments!

Another website says he was born 26 January 1790 and his Royal Navy record says born January 1794.
Mother was Deborah French. She married Michael in 1782.
Airmount House is in College Road, New Ross, County Wexford. It is on a hill overlooking the River Barrow but does not seem to be visible from Google street view.

I am descended from his sister Margaret (c1786 - 1862) who married Robert Birch, a Dublin merchant.
