Hello all,
I'm trying to gain information of my Grandmothers family. Mary O'Leary (O'Connell) lived in Clashbane born 1928 died 1992 aged 64. She later lived in Knockgrena, Old Pallas with my grandfather and family.
Her parents where Patrick and Bridget O'Connell.
She is buried in Hospital graveyard with her father Patrick and son Pat.
Also in the grave are Patrick Walsh died 1950 and his Mother Margaret Walsh died 1954. My father thinks these were distant relations of ours and known as 'Welsh's' I have no information on this family, I assume they lived nearby or with my family at some point.
Any info would be great.

I looked at the civil marriage records on www.irishgenealogy.ie and found one in 1922 which is a possible record for Mary's parents. Of course, I just have Bridget as her mother's name so this may not be the correct record. You have to sign-in to see the record.

Hello Roger,
I'd say your spot on! Bridget's maiden name was Ryan so that matches the record.
Also mentioned are the fathers of the bride and groom as Thomas and David, these are also the names of Bridget's sons. . .keeping nicely in the tradition of naming children after grandparents.Is there any connection you can see of the Walsh family who is buried with Patrick and my Grandmother?

I would suggest that you try to locate the 1911 census records for the two families and see if there are Walsh families in the townlands.
