Hi all, Would anyone have any info on My my g.g.grandparents Edmond Cleary of Dolla or his wife Mary Scanlan of Reisk, Kilcommon? They married in 18 Feb.1855 in Kilcommon, had several children including my g.grandmother Mary A. Cleary(1858-1938) who married Patrick Hewitt/Huit(1846-1927)at the Chapel at Templederry . They all lived on or around Foilnamuck,Dolla . Mary nee Cleary Hewitt had 10 children, her son Dennis was my grandfather(1882-1961) .My grandfather and his siblings immigrated to the U.S.A. and settled on "Tipperary Hill,Syracuse,N.Y." My G.Grandmother Mary Cleary Hewitt (1858-1938) immigrated with her 10th child Tom after the death of her husband Patrick in 1927.I don't know where Patrick is buried but they were from Silvermines,Tipperary. Many relatives and people from the Nenagh, Thurles, Borrisoleigh, Cashel, Upperchurch area went to Syracuse,New York and married there. Other family names are; Kennedy, Hughes, Butler, Guilmartin,Moynahan, Harrington, Moore, Bradshaw,Corbett,Scanlan,Dwyer,Ryan, etc. My grandfather Dennis Hewitt married Anna Whelan . Her parents were Edward Whelan and Nora nee Hughes Whelan. All these people were from Tipperary ,many immigrated to Syracuse. A cousin of mine Mary Catherine Hewitt and Bea Ryan travelled back & forth to Tipperary in the 1960s and stayed with relatives ...Bridget Kennedy & family who were farmers. Any hints or information would be greatly appreciated. I also have a public Hewitt tree on Ancestry if that helps . Thank you! Jeanne Hewitt Joergens

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I think I located the baptismal record for Mary in 1829 in Kilcommon. See transcription below. If Edmond was from Silvermines or Templederry, it appears that his baptismal record would not be available since records for those two parishes start in 1839-1840. Links for the three parish registers are below. I found two 1901 census records in Foilnamuck which will be of interest. One has your grandfather.
I will also contact the parish laison in Silvermines and let him know about your message.
Let me know if you have questions.
