Milwaukee Irish Fest has announced its star-studded line-up, with music running the gamut of genres, from traditional Irish to the most contemporary sounds of today. The line-up sets the stage for an unforgettable festival, including performances from fan favorites like The High Kings and We Banjo 3, plus new comers such as Elephant Sessions and Boxing Banjo.

The 2019 official showcase will shine a light on Galway, a gem of a city often referred to as the cultural heart of Ireland and the European Capital of Culture for 2020. The city’s vibrant art and music scene will be on full display throughout the festival grounds. Attendees can see the following showcase artists:

  • We Banjo 3
  • The Whileaways
  • BackWest
  • Leo Moran & Padraig Stevens
  • The Kane Sisters

The festival always attracts new attendees each year, and the musical acts are no different. To give emerging artists a platform, over 14 acts will make their debut at Milwaukee Irish Fest this August, including Rum Ragged, Moxie, Shane Hennessy, and more.

Milwaukee Irish Fest is also continuing its collaboration with Dublin’s music and cultural festival, TradFest. The following TradFest artists will make their first appearance at Milwaukee:

  • Emma Langford
  • Realta
  • Boxing Banjo
  • Susan O’Neill (winner of the TradHub competition from Milwaukee Irish Fest’s collaboration with TradFest)

Through Milwaukee Irish Fest’s partnership with the University of Limerick, Eadaoin Ni Mhaicin from Mayo (harp and concertina) and Olivia Budd from Vancouver (fiddle) will perform throughout the festival weekend and teach at the Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School, which takes place the week leading into the festival.

From indie-rock to Americana, trad, singer-songwriter and folk, there’s a variety of music so that there’s something for everyone to enjoy! View the full line-up and start planning your trip to Milwaukee Irish Fest by visiting their website, at
