Agnes Hardy was born June 29, 1890 to parents James Hardy and Jane Murray Hardy. Agnes was the fifth of eleven children. The family lived on a hillside in the townland of Dooglen. Seven of the eleven Hardy children emigrated to America and settled in South Philadelphia.
Agnes first emigrated to America in November 1904 with her sister Lizzie. They stayed with their mother's sister Catherine in South Philadelphia. At some point in 1905, Agnes returned to Ireland. Possibly she was homesick and her father was not well and eventually died in January 1906. Agnes stayed in Ireland for over three years but returned to America in May 1909 with her sisters Jane and Annie. Again she lived with her Aunt Catherine in South Philadelphia and stayed with her aunt until February 1924 when she married a widower, Robert Brennan. They had five children. Agnes died on January 8, 1955 from colon cancer
