Andrew left on 20th April 1929 and arrived 29th April in New York to process through the immigration station of Ellis Island. He was Irish from the Irish Free State. Andrew paid his own passage, had $35 with him and had never been America. He was a Carpenter on his way to his Aunt, Mrs. Annie Fogarty in New York.
He was 27 years old, born in the Roscrea district and a son of Malachy of Curraguneen Bournea which was also his last residence. He was single, 5’ 9” tall, with grey eyes, fair hair and a fresh complexion.
