Ann is somewhat of a mystery.  She married Sylvester Millsa, Widower, as Anne Sexton, a spinster, on 27 May 1875 at St. Anthony's Chapel (Roman Catholic), Liverpool aged 35.  Her father was named as Joseph Sexton, Tailor.

BUT she had been living with Sylvester as his wife for several years prior to this.  The first definite recording of her is on the 1871 census as Ann Mills, Sylvester's wife aged 30 living with 5 children, 2 of whom were her step children.  They had nine children together, from 1867 to 1882, all of them baptised in the catholic church and on their baptismal records Ann is recorded as having the maiden name Sheridan.

Her year of birth differs from 1835 to 1841 on the census returns that have been found - in 1871 she is 30 years old from Ireland, in 1881 she is 46 and from Dublin and in 1911 she is 76 from Kells, Co. Meath.  Ann has not been found on either the 1891 nor 1901 census and although there are a couple of possibilites for the 1851 and 1861 census, it is difficult to know whether it's Ann Sheridan or Ann Sexton that we are looking for.
