Ann Taylor born 1834 Parsonstown, Kings County, Ireland, was the daughter of Edward and Catherine Taylor.  Ann was an Irish Famine Orphan taken from Birr Workhouse when she was 16 under the Earl Grey Orphan Scheme and bought to Australia on the Tippoo Saib arriving in Sydney in 1850.

In 1857 a daughter Mary Anne Taylor was born on the goldfield "Woolshed" at Beechworth, Victoria -. to Ann and Frank Bolton, 34, Carrier from America unmarried.  At the time of Mary Ann's birth another child existed.  Deteails of the other child unknown.  Details of Frank Bolton unknown but there are mentions of a Frank Bolton, Gold Prospector in Victoria gold fields and Otago, New Zealand  An article appeared c1962 wherein an Ann Taylor was charged with child neglect.  Witness said Ann received money for the children from the father who was in New Zealand.  When not drinking Ann was a good mother, but had been drinking for a number of weeks.  Ann took the oath and was released.  No other details have been found for Ann Taylor.

Her daughter Mary Ann Taylor moved from Gold Field to Gold field with George Wylde (a Butcher), whom she named as her father..  It is possible that George Wylde took in the childeren as their mother may have been unfit and he and his wife became parents to Ann and her sibling.  Mary Ann married in 1868 in Mudgee NSW, Thomas Borxholme, Gold Miner..  They had six children and travelled around various gold fields before settling in West Wallsend, where Thlomas worked as a maintenance man in a coalmine.
