The Kane/O'Kane family chain-migrated 1882-1890s from Gateshead on the Tyne River in NE England to the US. They first landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, then, over time, migrated to the west coast, spending some years in Seattle and San Francisco, most eventually settling in Long Beach in southern California in the early 1920s. One group settled in Cleveland, Ohio.
