  • My maiden name is Keane, my father was born in Tulla in 1918, his mother was born in Kilmore and her maiden name was McNamara.  One of my fathers brothers married a Bridget O'Dea from Kerry.  In the early 60's my father emigrated to Australia but decided not to stay so travelled around for a couple of years calling in at Randwick to visit relatives!   I have assumed that he visited someone from his mothers family as I traced one of her brothers there but now wonder if there may have been someone from my Keane line there as well.

  • On May 9th, 1893, Bridget McInerney passed away at Burrowa, New South Wales. In 1893, in Murringo, New South Wales, she was laid to rest. Mary Keane, Bridget's daughter, lived in Randwick when she first came to the colony ovo game

  • Hi I am still confused as to whom my father Michael Keane may have visited in the early 60's when he emigrated to Australia.  He decided not to settle and returned 2 years later.  I still have a map of Randwick that he gave me.   I know one of his uncles emigrated there but he was from the McNamara line and I recently met up with a descendant of his when he came to London.
