  • Thank you for your comment Mary. It is wonder to know your family was from Derry Draperstown!  I do not see a Bradley in my family tree.  Maybe through marriage?  Toner and O'Neil were her parents names. Bridget's married name was King.

  • When Bridget Bradley was born on February 1, 1871, in Derry, Cavan, Ireland, her father, James, was 31, and her mother, Ellen, was 25. She married John Toner on August 7, 1890. They had 12 children in 25 years. She died on July 6, 1960, in her hometown at the age of 89, and was buried there.

James Bradley I believe was my great grandfather Peter Bradley older brother.  Peter Bradley was born in 25 March 1848

to Margaret Keilt and Patrick Bradley.

  • Metriplet:  apologies on my inadvertent late reply to your June 2021 comment. My Great Grandmother Bridget Toner's birth certificate shows she was born on January 13 1872 to Patrick and Alice (O'Neil) Toner in Draperstown, Magherafelt, County of Derry.  Do you live in Draperstown?  Our families surely must have known my great mother's family and it is wonderful to know your family's history and know they were probably neighbors.  Let me know if there is more of a family connection that I may be missing based on the birth certificate I have of my Great Grandmother Bridget O'Neil Toner King. Thank you for you kind comment and connecting across the miles.  All our ancestors embodied such bravery to walk into the unknown of being an immigrant in a foreign country and come to America. It is an amazing story of the pursuit of a better life.
