Bryan Bernard Ruddy 1833 : Short Biography

Does anyone have more information on Bryan Ruddy pictured above?  Possible relative??   I have been searching for my GGrandfather John Ruddy, Reddy Rudy, Ready (family info) from Westport, Mayo.  Birth approx 1846, death in Cleveland 1886.  He married Anne Lynch, Bella, Mayo 1845 who died in Cleveland 1907.  I have not been able to find marriage records in Ireland or Cleveland.  
If anyone has any information on any of the Ruddys, I would be most grateful.   The Ruddy name was changed to Reddy in Cleveland, but I remember my dad saying Reddy, formerly Ruddy.  I understand that Ruddy is not a very common name which gives me hope.

Yes that Bryan Bernard was my two times great grandfather. He was from around Derrycorrib, Co Mayo. Bryan settled in Central IL. I have looked into the Ruddy's from Westport but we are not related. Bryan emigrated in 1852. Let me know if I could be of any help.

• Hi. I'm looking for a Catherine Ready. Married John Mcglinn in Blackburn England in 1851. She was born in Ireland as was her husband. Her birth was between 1827 and 1831. Her fathers name was Daniel Ready.She died 4th January 1903 in Sheffield Workhouse Yorkshire. My DNA from Ancestry shows that my ancestors were from around Co Mayo and Connacht. So many variations of the name. But on one baptism record I have  it  shows a Bridget Ruddy baptized at Annunciation RC Church Chesterfield, Derbyshire. John Ruddy January 29th 1860 at St Marie's RC Church Sheffield Yorkshire. This maybe a long shot, but worth a try. Thank you

Angenna, I don't have a Daniel in my tree. But that doesn't mean anything. I believe Bryan had a sister named Catherine so it could mean Daniel was an uncle to them.

Thanks for your reply Kathleen. We know very little of our Irish side. And my mother never knew any of her family. We believe she was in one of the scattered homes in Rotherham Yorkshire until she went to live with her guardians aged around 6 years of age.

To Debi Ropp, 

You  mentioned you have information on Ruddys in Westport but you are not related.  If you found any information, I would be so happy to hear it.  I know that births weren't registered until after my John Ruddy was born.  I can't find birthday, marriage -no information.  A friend who is very experienced with Ancestry tried and he struck out as well.
