Catherine Deasy, (aka Kate Dacy, Dacey, Aglis parish) who married Michael Monahan, also from Ireland (I think Cork), gave birth to my dad's mother, Rose Monahan, and my aunt Anna Monahan (aka Cohan) and several other children. Kate lost her triplet children and husband, Michael, during the same year (I think 1867, when the triplets were 1 year old) and I have heard about this story since birth. I heard the babies died from bad milk. I can't read the death certificates clearly. I grew up their house.
I will be in Ireland in late July, hoping to find the places my grands came from. For Catherine Deasy I see Ovens, Ross, Aglish, microfilm 04795/04, baptized 1 March 1853.
My other gram, Julia Desmond is from Cork,Kilmurry, Fireveen, born/baptized 30 November 1837. Microfilm 04803/05. I have reached out to church folks but am getting nowhere in trying to buy their birth documents.
I need to get documentation of both great grands. Not getting very far.
Appreciative of any help.
Thank you warmly.
