Catherine Byrne was born in County Tyrone, Ireland in 1832 and came to Canada in 1842, locating at Ratter's Corner, Kings County, New Brunswick. She was married three times, her first husband being Patrick McNaught with whom she had five children. Her second marriage was to Charles McManemon with whom she had four children: Charles Edwin McManemon; Roger Francis McManemon; Annastasia Wilbur; and Mrs. Herbert Monahan. Her third husband was Owen McTiernan, who predeceased her in 1916.
