Catherine McManus : Short Biography

Catherine was baptized 29 Jan 1843 in Aughalurcher, Fermanagh, Diocese-Clogher.  She is the daughter of Patrick McManus and Catherine Brady.  She married Bartholomew O’Brien 4 Mar 1867 in Enniskillen, Fermanagh (Monea Roman Catholic Chapel, Parish of Ely).

Catherine and Bartholomew had at least 7 children.  I have found the Baptism records for the children on Findmypast.  The baptisms all took place at Garrison Parish, Clogher Diocese, Co. Fermanagh.  The children are:

Susan A. O’Brien (1868-1955)

Michael O’Brien (1869-1960)

Mary O’Brien (1870-1947)

Catherine O’Brien (1872-1943)

Sarah O’Brien (1874-1945)

Patrick O’Brien (1875-1925)

Bartholomew O’Brien (1877-1939)

A few of the children emigrated to the United States, and others traveled back and forth.  Catherine and Bartholomew stayed in Fermanagh, as best as I can tell.  Catherine died 6 Nov 1915 in Meenacloyabane, Fermanagh.  Bartholomew died the following year.  Both are buried along with some of the children at Garrison Roman Catholic Cemetery, Inishmacsaint, Garrison, Fermanagh.
