Catherine was born in Leitrim and christened in Innismagrath on 14th June 1838. She was born in 1831.
She was sent out to Australia on The Lady Peel in 1849 as a famine girl. She was listed as a house servant. cannot read or write, no relatives in colony. Empl. P. Goold, Balmain, £10, 1 year; 1858-9 Report on Irish Female Immigrants, Appendix J No.81, 11 Feb 1850; indentures with Goold, Cancelled for neglect of work and impertinence.
