Migrated to/Born in USA
Catherine and a sister sailed to the U.S. as young girls speaking only Gaelic. Later, their parents William and Catherine O'Brien joined them.
Catherine learned to read and write English while she cared for young children in a private home.
In June 1888, she married John W. Roche whose parents, John and Mary Daly Roche, had immigrated during the famine period with two older children.
This writer has not found any immigration, birthdates, or locations, only that Catherine said that O'Briens came from County Clare.
