Elizabeth O’Brian b 1834 probably Kerry, married George 1856 NY
I would love an opinion on this; There is a Catherine Walsh b 1798 to John Walsh and Julia Hartnett in Kerry. They also had a daughter named Margaret who married a James O’Brian and she had a daughter Elizabeth b ca 1833 and I can find nothing on her. The brother to Catherine had grandkids that lived in New Jersey, close to Catherine’s children and grandchildren. One of Catherine’s grand daughters has the same name, Mary Burke, as a witness on one of the grandsons of Catherine’s brother John’s wedding in New Jersey. Elizabeth O’brian immigrated right before her marriage to George Delury, possibly with George’s mother and two youngest sibs. George’s youngest sister was very young when he left for America so she didn’t know his very well, but left NY at the age of 15 with his new wife Elizabeth O’Brian and George to go around the horn to end up in California.
My question is; is it possible that this is my Walsh family- with cousins Elizabeth O’Brian and George Delury marrying? An awful lot of coincidences. My DNA doesn’t match with the DNA of the descendants of the siblings of Catherine Walsh. Thanks so much for your help. Joan Whitney Washington State USA
Patrick is my biggest brick wall, and I have been researching for over 45 years. He appears in Griffins Valuations 1852 Tralee, died ca 1853-54. I am missing a marriage record for Patrick and Catherine Walsh, a death record or birth for Patrick, and actual birth or christening records for Catherine 1823, Margaret, and George. The LDS film of Old Parish Records was a transcribed, typed record- only the christening dates for Ellen and Patrick Jr are there. Funny, both children are Patricks, but (I believe,) because of a miss translation, one mother is Catherine WALSH and one is Catherine LYNCH. Both children came to the USA with Catherine WALSH in 1854. Thanks for any help or suggestions the IrelandXO community may have.
