  • Catherine was baptised at Tuam Co Galway on 22Jul1815 - line in Register reads "Catrin of Patt Ward Cathi, Sp Peter ? & ? McManus 2 .. 6 (cost of baptism - £2 or 2/6 ?)

    From Disposal of Immigrants list - Catherine assigned to Mr Justice Willis of Sydney - £15 per year with rations provided.

    (Mr Justice Willis - John Walpole Willis - 1793-1877 was a Judge of the Supreme Court in Sydney from 1838-1841. His life is well documented
    and there is a photo).

    Catherine married Edward Sad(d)ler 5May1840 at Cullen Bullen NSW - have copy of Marriage Certificate

    Possibly ten children born to Edward and Catherine  between 1842 and 1857 - when Catherine died 7Sep1883 at Green Hills she had been a widow for 7 years - 6 males and 1 female children living aged from 20 to 45 years - 2 males and 1 female, deceased in infancy - names of children not on Catherine's death certificate. Have copy of Death Certificate.
    Catherine died of Inflamation of the Lungs aged 74 years. Buried 9Sep1883 at Uarbry Cemetery.

    1. Edward P Sadler 1842-13Feb1929 Randwick (Reg No 1243) buried Rookwood - birth registered St Mathews Windsor. Edward Jnr married Mary Ann Irwin in 1888.
    2. Robert Sadler 1843-1896 Parramatta (Reg No 14871)
    3. Samuel Sadler Sadler (1846-5Sep1930 at Marrickville), married Jane Elliott 15Dec1891 Dubbo
    4. Henry 'Harry' Sadler 1847-1932 Wee Waa NSW (Ref No 13817)
    5. Mary Elizabeth Sadler 1849-1908 Moree (Ref No 10286), married Wm Edward Sullivan 1871 - son Cornelius J Sullivan (1873-1956) married Mary Beacham (1882-1954). Their daughter
    Elizabeth Mary Sullivan (1917-1996 Qld) married W C Borland (1912-1979). Another son William Joseph Sullivan (1881-1960) - Gt grandfather of Angus (gustav68@bigpond.com)
    6. Mary Sadler 1851 died as infant in 1852 or 1853

    7. Patrick James Sadler - born 11Feb1855 at Mudgee, Died 6Feb1929 at Wee Waa (reg at Narrabri No 3920) aged 74 years and buried there.
    He married Marion Carter on 22Feb1881 Narrabri NSW - 12 children - Marion died 30May1945 Narrabri.
    Their daughter Catherine Edith Sadler (22 May 1882 Narrabri to 26 Nov 1968 Narrabri, NSW) married James Alfred Hardman (15 Dec 1875 Warialda, NSW to 25 Sept 1923 Narrabri NSW) and had 7 children.
    Their daughter Irene Sadie Hardman (16 Sep 1914 Narrabri to 22 October 1982 Narrabri) married John William Boyle (27 July 1913 Narrabri to 3 Sept 1987 Tamworth) and had three children.
    Their daughter Patricia Ann Boyle born 7 Mar 1944 in Sydney (and also my mum) has married twice and has 5 children and 2 step children.

    8. William John Morris Sadler born 5Dec1857 Cassilis (reg No 6037) - died 24Mar1914 Narrabri (reg No 4170) - Railway Signalman retired 13Nov1896.
