  • Hi, although assisted and unassisted migration from Britain and Ireland to Australia was common in the early years of the colony, the Earl Grey Irish Famine Orphan scheme only lasted 2 years from 1948-1850. So Catherine was not an Earl Grey orphan but she would have had a unique story of her own.
