The family moved to Canoe (later named Decorah) Winneshiek, Iowa in 1856 and added Elizabeth 1857 and Colin (Colonel) 1860 to their family. Charles owned a farm and farmed in that county until his death in 1880. He is buried along side his wife Rosanne in Bluff Heights Bluffton, St. Bridgets Cemetery, Decorah, Winnesheik, Iowa.
