Charles Denroche Gore Semple was my great grandfather. According to information from the family he came from Kilkenny and was born in 1833, to Alexnader and Anne (Gore) Semple om March 27th.
He left Ireland in 1852 and went to Louisville, Kentucky (USA) in 1853. He may have stopped in Pennsylvania in 1852 before going to Kentucky in 1853. He had several sisters and brothers, but only two other siblings went to America. Those siblings were Margaret, who married James Jenks and Anne, who went to Louisville and never married.
The family information is that his father, Alexander Semple was a Captain in the army and was for a time stationed at Tullow Barracks.
Any information on Alexander Semple and his family would be appraciated. I did received some information from this site, but have never listed anyone as an ancestor from the parish.
