We are trying to find inforamtionof our GGrandfather - DANIEL FARREN - and his family. We would love to find information about his parents, where in Ireland his family lived, where his parents died and are buried, and other siblings not included below.
We have a great deal of information from U.S. records but have been unable to find anything in Ireland.Here is the family
Mother -SARAH MCCRORY or McGRORY or similar spelling.
Birth Unknown but estimated at about 1825 based on births of her children
Father - JOHN FARREN birth unknown.
Marriage for them unknown but probably about 1840.
Death unknown for both
Residence in Ireland Unknown but supposed to be Donegal County. However, younger children were baptised in Derry so the family may have moved to Derry
At least 8 Children, 7 of whom emigrated to the US 1860-1880 - all lived Boston, Massachusetts or immediate area and all information below is from US records.

DANIEL FARREN - birth about 1848 Donegal County
Daniel worked as Upholsterer and did Seat Caning
Daniel was BLIND and family history has him being trained for seat canong and upholstery in Ireland - in Derry??
U.S. Naturalization papers have birth as Nov 1848 in Donegal County. 1900 US Census has DOB as Nov 1852
He married Margaret T Barry in 1887. She was born in Ohio about 1852/5. Her parents are Michael and Mary (born in Ireland - County Cork).
Daniel died in 1906 - Parents on death certificate - John Farren and Sarah McGorey

OWEN FARREN: born about 1841-43 Donegal County
U.S. Naturalization papers have birth as 22 May 1843 in Donegal County.
He married Rosa Friel (or Freel) in Sept 1873. Her parents are James and Catherine. She was born in Ireland and died in May 1905. Owen died on 7 May

JOHN FARREN -
Birth in Ireland in 1845-48 . He was not naturalized and Never married.

BERNARD FARREN - birth about 1847 Donegal County
U.S. Naturalization papers have birth as 19 May 1847 in Donegal County
Marriage record has birth about 1846/7; Death record has birth about 1846.
He married Ellen Farren in Nov 1869. Ellen is from Malin Head born about 1849- parents are Phillip and Bridget McKenny. She died in Apr 1892.
Bernard died in 1888. Parents on death certificate - John and Sarah Farren
EDWARD FARREN - birth about 1853 Donegal County
There are multiple possible births for him: 1853 (marriage), 1855 (1900 census), 1861 (death - this date unlikely)
There are multiple U.S. Naturalization records that could be him but none seem to fit well.
He married Ellen McLaughlin in 1874. She was born in Ireland about 1853/4: Her parents are Owen and Bridget
Her death unknown
Edward died in 1902 - Parents on death certificate - John Farren and Sarah McGrory
MICHAEL FARREN - birth 1859 - Derry
U.S. Naturalization papers have born Londonderry Feb 1859
Baptismal record from Long Tower in Derry had Baptism 19 Feb 1859. Parents are John Farren and Sarah McCrory
He died in 1901: Parents on death certificate - John Farren and Sarah McGlory
CATHERINE FARREN -
Multiple birth years for her: marriage has about 1866; 1910 census has 1867; 1920 census has 1870; 1930 census has 1878. These records are all definitely her.
There is also a Baptismal record from Long Tower, Derry for a Catherine Farren baptized 1853 - parents John Farren and Sarah McCrory. No idea if this is her since birth is not anywhere near all the other possible dates from US records. She married Franklin Montrose in 1902.
She died in 1930 - cannot see death cert so unknown what parents names are on record.
In addition to the above, the obituary for Catherine Farren Montrose included a still living (as of 1930) sister in Egypt named MARGARET FARREN HILL. No other informatin about Margaret.
Lastly, there another person who may be part of the family.
There is a Baptismal record for SARAH MARIA FARREN - from Long Tower, Derry. Baptized in 1856 - Parents and John and Sarah Farren. SHe may be part of the family but we have no knowlege of her.
