Daniel O'Connor and Nancy (Ann) Naughton ( Nachtin)
Daniel O'Connor's birthdate and place of virth have NOT been verified. From the two US Census notes he was born about 1820 in Ireland. His parents names are NOT verified or known at this point. Daniel's name is noted as Connor, Conner and Conin and varies in many records.
He married Nancy (Ann) Nachton but I have NOT been able to verify where or the date, Nancy is noted as Anna, Ann and her last name is spelled as Nachten, Naughton, Mc Naughton.
Together Daniel and Ann had 8 children every 2 years for 20 years from 1847 through 1867. Using irishgeneology.ie ( a free website ) and the Church records available online there, I have been able to verify their baptism dates and the parish where the baptism took place as follows: Cornelius 6/26/1847 – Rinard, RC Kerry County Ireland
Jeremiah Connor 12/1/1850 – Caherciveen RC Kerry County Ireland father Daniel, mother Ann McNachten - Sponsor Janet Mc Nachten
Honora (Nora) 10/23/1853 -Rinard, Caherciveen RC Kerry County Ireland
Michael 8/9/1857 – Rinard, Caherciveen RC Kerry County Ireland
Mary Connor 1/1/1860 - Rinard , Caherciveen RC Kerry County Ireland father Daniel , mother
Anna Naughton Sponsors Edward Neile and Mary Neile
Joanna Connor 5/26/1865 Rinard, Caherciveen RC Kerry County Ireland father Dan, mother Honora Naughton
Ellen Connor 11/29/1861 Rinard, Caherciveen RC Kerry County Ireland
John Edward 5/1/1867 Rinard, Caherciveen RC Kerry County Ireland
From my research I learned that Renard (Reenard or Rinard) was the Townland the family lived in and Caherciveen was the parish.
Using this baptism information I searched Daniel Connor on the irishgeneology.ie ( a free website ) for the Caherciveen Parish and Reenard in Kerry County Ireland.
I verified that according to land records in Griffith's Valuation for 1852, Daniel Connor was a tenant farmer with the landlord of Maurice O'Connell Caherciveen Parish and Reenard in Kerry County Ireland. His neighbors were several O'Neills who I believe were named as witnesses in Mary Connor's baptism. The O'Neills rented their land from a “Knight of Kerry”.
