In the 1880, US Census, the O'Connor family is living at 260 Irving Place in Yonkers, New York Westchester County. Daniel is 60, wife Ann is 60, Michael is 20; noted as a laborer, Ellen 18 and John 15 work in the local Alexander Carpet Mills Factory.
