Does the original poster have any more info on Daniel Sheehan? My 3x great grandmother was Julia Sheehan from Ballylanders and I suspect they may be related, since Ballylanders is quite small.

Did your Julia marry a Tobin?if so she is the sister of my great grandfather John Sheehan.I do not have much information re Daniel Sheehan as it is difficult to find the right one. In Griffiths 1852 there are 3 Daniel Sheehan .1 Glennahaglish landlord mrs Oliver, 2 Curraghturk landlord Earl of Kingston, and 3 Ballylanders landlord William Murphy.Having visited Ballylanders these townlands are all in the parish of Ballylanders. There are also other mentions of a Daniel in death records .I recently found the death record of Mary Sheehan wife of my Daniel. Mary died 05-11-1883 aged 80 a widow in the Ballylanders home of her daughter Honora Power her son in law James Power was the informer.

No, Julia married William Long, and they had three daughters, Johanna, Mary, and Catherine. I have been suspecting that Julia might be Daniel's sister, rather than John's. She was born in the 1830's, and her three daughters were born between 1858 and 1864. Julia and her three daughters all emigrated to Chicago, but we have been unable to determine what happened to William Long.
