Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in Australia

According to her Queensland marriage certificate, Delia was born about 1859-1860 in Galway.  Aged 21 years, Delia married Heinrich August Schuffenhauer on the 14 August, 1881 in Rockhampton Queensland in the Presbyterian Manse of the Presbyterian Church.  Not sure of her immigration but think she arrived in late 1870's.  Delia had 3 sisters who came to Rockhampton, Qld at different times, Mary, Maria and Rose.  She also had a sister Catherine / Kate who lived in England and then migrated to America.  Other siblings, William (b.c1844), Thomas (b. c1849) and Ellen (b. c1851) - not yet found where they went.  Biddy was born in 1842 and possibly died then.

Her family were Roman Catholic and most of the life events were at the Middle Street Roman Catholic Church in St Nicholas Parish.  Delia's parents were Thomas Allen and Winifred Flynn who lived their life around the Docks of Galway (Flood St, The Parade, Long Walk, Middle Street) as Thomas was a shipping pilot / boatman.  The last decade of their lives Thomas and Winny lived in Court House Lane, Galway. Thomas and Winny died in Galway 1904 and 1902 respectively.  I think that all the family must have migrated as the informant for Winny's death in 1902 was her daughter Katie Wood who was living in England at the time.  Thomas died in the Workhouse from bronchitis, but had been living at Court House Lane.

Delia had 12 children between 1881 and 1901 of which 9 had a full life.  She died in 11 April, 1928 in Rockhampton.
