I've been searching for any information for my mother's great grandfather. Does anyone have any additional information about this Denis Cray, born January 1, 1837? My information has the same photograph, but had him born around 1830, in Cork. Beyond that, everything for him and his family is a dead end. Thanks to anyone who can assist me!

Your mother is obviously a first cousin of mine as Denis Cray is also my great grandfather. I posted the photo of Denis Cray some time ago in the hope that some Irish relative might recognise the name. So far I have had no contacts.
The only Irish record I have been able to locate is the baptismal record in Aughadown parish.
AUGHADOWN, or AGHADOWN, is in the Electoral Division of Aghadown South, in Civil Parish of Aghadown, in the Barony of West Carbery (East Division), in the County of Cork.

Thanks so much for responding! We have been trying hard to find any information on Denis Cray. I noticed a birthday of January 1, 1837 on this site, which was a year that surprised me. He shows up on the U.S. census records several times, typically with a age that goes I think with 1832. We are on a 7 hour time zone difference, but I can confirm that tonight when I get home from work. We have nothing for parents names, or any history prior to his arrival in America. Anything you can think of of have records for would be appreciated, including any dates he left Ireland. My mother is a Cray, and this side of our family has been lost to history.
