I am not familiar with Dennis Martin Ryan (he does not relate to me) but checked Ancestry.com to see if there was any information that might help you. There are 128 trees for his family on Ancestry. Per some of the trees, Dennis died in Hastings, Dakota, Minnesota, United States where his wife, Mary Devaney, and him raised their family. There is a gravesite on Find-A-Grave. Thomas Dennis Ryan (abt. 1805-1897) and Catherine McCormick (another tree has surname Murphy??) (abt. 1800-1870) are identified as Dennis' parents on the tree. Both were from Ireland and died in Hastings, Dakota, Minnesota, United States. The tree includes an obituary for Thomas.

Summary of obituary- He died at 92 at his son Dennis' house. He emigrated to America in1842 and settled in Dakota in 1851. Perhaps that is when Dennis came to America. He had two sisters still living Mrs. Martin Conley and Mrs. Thomas McDermott, Denmark.

The tree identifies Thomas being born in Tipperary and his parents as Dennis Thomas Ryan and Mary O'Brien.

On Ancestry.com a Naturalization record for a Martin Ryan of Dakota (may not be yours) is shown. Sometimes more than just the county, i.e. Tipperary is included. I saw a record for a Thomas and Catherine , as well.

I do have much of this info as I am on ancestry.com, but thank you so much for your research! I haven't connected with the naturalization records directly yet. Do you know what info is included in the original documents/records. The info I've seen online is very minimal.

It looks like the company is based out of Minnesota. Perhaps you can call and ask what info is included? I don't know if you are in Minnesota close to where this company is located. It looks like documents are accessible to the public. Still don't know if there is a cost.

I did checkout Thomas Dennis Ryan's sisters, Honora Ryan McDermott and Johanna Ryan Conley. They both lived in Denmark, Washington, Minnesota. I reviewed their documents on Ancestry and Family Search and did not find anything but Tipperary noted as birth place.

I did not find anything on RootsIreland that could be your Ryan family.
