My great grandmother Eliza Grady (written as Gaffney sometimes). Married James Whelan in 1880 in Johnstown.
She gave her age as 19 occupation servant and father Richard. All I have on her really. So a birthdate of about 1861.
She named her first child Mary born Jan 1883 so maybe that was her mothers name. No idea of when she died as the family story is she abandoned her two young daughters Mary and Ellen a few years later to go to America with another man. She was never heard from again and James brought the girls up alone with the help of a succession of housekeepers.
