Éilís Ní Mhaoileanaigh aka Eliza Mullaney and Seán Ó Léanacháin aka John Leneaghan of Enagh have baptism records in the RC Parish of Croghan for a short period dating from 1813-1816. Although they only appear to have had only one child, they continued to be extremely popular godparents.
In 1835, a James Leneaghan appears on the Tithe Applotment records for Enagh sharing some land with Pat Sharkett (Sharkey) who John & Eliza invite to godparent in 1813.
Pat Sharkett married Mary Lenaghan; whose siblings included: Loughlin 'Lackey' Lenaghan (fl. 1816); Catherine Leneghan m. John McGreevy; Margaret Leneghan; Pat Leneghan m. Brigid Sharkett; Timothy Lenahan m. Catherine Burns; Dorothy Lenaghan m. Michael Doud of Enagh; James Lenahan m. Margaret Harrington. William McCormack & Elizabeth Lenahan of Derrylow.
It is possible that James Leneghan was the father of John and the Leneghan siblings listed above; Eliza Mullaney & John Leneghan were still present in Enagh in the 1840s.
On 2-Aug-1837, Pat Sharkett & Mary Leneghan invited both of them to godparent. In 1840, James Lenahan & Margaret Harrington did the same. Eliza also sponsored baptisms for her siblings and in-laws: John McGreevy & Catherine Lenaghan (1835); Thomas Mullaney & Margaret McKeon aka Cohen of Enagh (1838); Patrick Carroll & Brigid Mullany (prob. Derrylow);
A John Leneghan was still godparenting in 1844 for Michael McGreevy & Eliza Mullany and for Pat Leneghan & Brigid Sharkett in 1857. (There were other John Lenaghans in the parish).
By the time of Griffth's Valuation 1858, the Lenaghan name is not listed in the townland, whereas the Sharkett name endured at Farm #5 Enagh in Griffith's Valuation (Sharkett had married into the Lenaghan farm so #5 is a key guide to the Lenaghan homeplace).
