  • Does anyone have any more information on this person Elizabeth Brien. Particularly did she have any brothers. I have a Peter Brien who had a daughter born around 1860. His daughter was called Mary. He was married to a Catherine Byrne, Baptised in Killavaney.

  • Elizabeth (Betty Brien) was my GGGrandmother. She married John Hagerty/Hogarty/Hegarty in Tomacork church near Carnew, Wicklow in 1831. They lived on the Fitzwilliam estate, renting from Matthew Byrne, until 1848. They went to Canada with 7 children, but her mother, listed as Mary Bryan, did not go with them. There was a William Brien, from Tomacork/Kilcavan, who was on the same passage. I wish I could help but I have no information about Peter.

    Best Wishes, Maureen

  • Thank you Maureen. It's a long shot anyway, especially when we get back to the early 1800s. Still, something might come of it. Jaybee
