Elizabeth Daly

Back to List

My gg-grandmother, Elizabeth Daly, was probably a servant at one of the big houses in Cootehill or Monaghan, such as Bellamont House, The Beehive or Dartrey. She had twin daughters, Elizabeth & Amelia/Emma Coote 1844 in Cootehill, to Dawson Richard Coote (they didn't marry). he was the eldest son of Charles Coote & Louisa Dawson. The girls emigrated to New Zealand early 1860s after the death of their father (1850). I have a great deal of info. on the Coote & Dawson families after 40+ years of research but I know nothing about Elizabeth Daly other than on the girls baptism. She could have been born c 1820s. Dawson had been born in London 1811, where the Dawson family had an estate called Cremorne Gardens. Louisa was born at Dartrey.
