My ancestor Elizabeth Donnelly, from Dungannon, was my great great grandmother, married an Edward Neary in New york. one of her siblings was John Donnelly, a renowned sculptor in the USA. The Nearys were also stone masons, but I have no information on their origins. My other relations are from Tullycrine Clare, the Reidys, Nora being another great great grandmother who married a Wilkinson from New York, whose mother was a Marie O'Grady, origins unknown, the Wilkinsons apparently hailed from Yorkshire England.
My wife is a Shiels from Monaghan, were compositors, apparently hugh(her grandfather)left in a hurry to the USA after an altercation with a british soldier, with his friend sent to the tower of London. She has Devine and Daly from Cork, but no information on them as well. looking forward to closing the loops! all be safe!
