Elizabeth Catherine Wray was born in Ireland and came to America from the Carricknamanna area of Killygordon. Her parents, John Wray and Mary Anne Long (daughter of Alexander Long) married in the Presbyterian Meeting House on Dec 29, 1848 and lived in the area until their deaths abt 1911.
They had 12 children of which 6 migrated to the United States and 6 remained in Ireland. Those remaining were: William 1850-1931; Alexander 1856 - ?; John James 1857-1875; Mary Anne 1864-?; Fanny Martha 1867-1923 and Jemima Rebecca Lindsay 1872-1949 (she married Robert "Bobby" Henry Kee in 1893 and they had 9 children).
The 6 in the United States were: My grandmother, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Catherine 1861-1929; Ellen "Nellie" 1852-1935; Margaret "Maggie" J 1860-1926; George Wesley 1863-1935; Samuel Milton 1866-1948; and Robert Long 1858-1934. All 6 changed their name from Wray to Ray in the USA.
Lizzie married Samuel Ellis Roulston August 27, 1891in Waitsfield, Washington, Vermont USA. They resided in Vermont until they moved to South Britain, Connecticut and resided their until their deaths. They had 6 children; Samuel Ray 1893-1906; Harold Charles 1894-1906; Charles John 1897-1979; Nellie Margaret 1898-1988; Elwyn George 1901-1988; and Lloyd Alexander 1903-1975. Samuel Ellis was also born in Ireland and his parents John Roulston and Elizabeth Blackburn are buried in the Donaghmore Buryground.
Lizzie died of pnemonia on Jan 15, 1929 in Waterbury, New Haven, Connecticut and she and Samuel, along with their two eldest sons, Samuel and Harold are buried in South Britain Cemetery under the name Rolston.
