Migrated to/Born in USA

The only proof that I have of Elizabeth O'Neill's (married Curran) birth is from the records from the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma, California, USA. She is buried in a family group grave that includes her sister Ellen O'Neill (married Houseman). They have her death age listed as 65 and her death 19 Jan 1907, so we assume she was born approximately in the year 1842. In her obituary it is stated that she was from Tyrone Ireland. My mother's half cousin had done a lot of genealogical studies before the age of computers. She had listed Elizabeth's parents as Patrick O'Neill and Mary McSorely. I understand that O'Neill is a very common name in Northern Ireland, I am just so lost as to how to pursue further. At some point she and her sister came to the US, but I do not know when nor if she came with parents or any other family. She married my great great grandfather and lived in San Francisco, California for years. How and when she arrived and how she made it to San Francisco are a mystery. The same is true for my great great grandfather Bernard Curran (born abt 1824 died 2 Sep 1886 buried in Colma also). He was a tailor in San Francisco and specialized in military uniforms. I desperately seeking any information about either g g grandparents.
