Ellen CAREY was born in 1814 in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork the daughter of M CAREY and Mary SHEEHAN, she had at least one sibling - Michael. She married Thomas SULLIVAN in Carigdonan, Kildorrery, Co. Cork on 20 November, 1830. They had 4 children, all born in Kildorrery:
William b June 1833, married
(1) Mary SMITH - 2 daughters, Mary Ann and Bridget
(2) Mary HESTER (nee HAYES) - 1 son, Thomas
John b Jan 1839, married Johanna WELSH
Mary b c1840, married Patrick GLEESON
Ellen Mary b 12 June 1853, married Edward STRICKLAND - children: Mary, Agnes, Margaret, Elizabeth, Walter & Ellen. (Edward's first wife was Catherine CAREY, daughter of Michael CAREY)
Ellen Snr died c1862. Thomas and Ellen Mary then moved to London where William, John and Mary were living. Ellen Jnr migrated to Australia with her adult children in 1912.
