I know believe Ellen had at least one sister who also went to Livepool. The sister was Margaret Agnes (usually referred to as Agnes) who married Thomas Peters in Liverpool whilst Ellen married John Cottam. Both ladies would appear to have died in Liverpool in the early 1900's and are buried in Kirkdale. Both were RC.

Hi Johnathan Agnes and Ellen are direct ancesters of mine and i know Patrick Dunne was their father but i cant find who the Mother was any help would be much appreciated thanks Yvonne

Good to hear from you.
Based on my research, Ellen was born to Patrick Dunne and Mary Donovan, baptised at age 0 on 26 March 1863, putting Ellen's birth in 1862 or 63 (I think 63) and born in Borisoleigh, Tipperary, in the diocese of Cashiel and Emly. This all fits with my family lore but as Ellen died young in 1903, there was no one alive when I started research who remembered her at all. That said, I do remember - just!! - meeting her son, my grandfather and also John Cottam, in the mid fifties not long before he died in 1956. I haven't yet got further back with confidence on either Patrick or Mary.
Ellen, and her sister Agnes, both went to Liverpool, where Ellen met and married John Cottam, my GGF. Both John Cottams worked on the railways. I did visit Borrisoleigh once about 20 years ago but couldn't find anyone able to talk to me about the Dunnes. Ellen and Agnes both died young in Liverpool and whilst I can give you chapter and verse on the Cottams, I know very little of the Dunnes or the Peters, Agnes's husband's family, so anything you can share on them and the wider family would be very gratefully received! I only discovered Agnes when I started looking at RC records in Liverpool and found her by accident next to Ellen in the Catholic register and know nothing of any other relations.

HI Jonathon thank you for replying i have been looking for the Dunne family for so long and was the night i messaged i found Ellen Dunne by accident, Agnes Dunne is my GG Grandmother i didnt know where in Ireland she came from until i found her sister i also found another sister living in Philadelphia through DNA she i think is called Frances Dunne she married a Joseph Nagle. I have looked far and wide for Patrick Dunne and family i have a sneaking suspision he may have emigrated as well because Frances is younger by about 8 years to her sisters i will keep looking anyway i have a tree on Ancestry if that would be any help ..i will email you when i get a moment.
