It is uncertain where Ellen was born but she married Michael Ward in 1863 and her first two children were born in St Nicholas parish Newcastle, Galway before emigrating to England to live with Michael in Birkenhead, Cheshire.
I believe that her maiden name Hefferon was a version of Heffernon very much used by family members in Mayo. If there are any members with this name registered with Ireland XO I would really like you to make contact.
