Place of migration
Migrated to /Born in Canada
Francis Flynn was part of the great Irish migration to New Brunswick. In Old North Esk, Hamilton notes a Francis Flynn who came to Northumberland and was contracted to work on some roads in 1821. It's speculated to be this Francis. His baptismal records for County Roscommon from St. Peters in Athlone note his parents as Francis Flyn and Brigid Cosgreve. Little is known about his early years, but he shows up again in the early 1850's in Canadian census records with 5 children, and a wife, Mary Dean, that he's believed to have married in 1819.
