Henry was the son of John Conroy and his wife Mary. The story is that his parents were famine immigrants, that Henry was born in NY, and that his parents died in NY when he was very young. His father, John Conroy was from County Galway No record has been found of Henry in the US before he was 18 years old so it is unclear if he was born in NY or in Ireland. We have had a DNA match to a Conroy family in Letterfrack.
