Henry Devlin : Short Biography

Henry was born in Ireland and has at least one sister Sarah Devlin McClernon. 

Henry was married to a Bridget Malone in 8 July 1861 and had three children.  Youngest daughter died at childbirth (1866) along with mother Bridget.  His daughters Mary Ellen and Sarah Jane were left to be raised by Sarah Devlin McClernon in 1876 after their father Henry died in 1876. 

Last Will and Testament along with Guardianship papers were found on Ancestry naming his children Mary Ellen and Sarah Jane.  Henry lived in Independance, Iowa and worked as a Harness maker.  It is not known whether he was the owner of this shop of it was co-owned by Hugh McClernon (nephew, son of Sarah). 

Not much else is known about Henry and like his sister Sarah came from a family of 12 children. 

Mary Ellen was my maternal gg grandmother of which my own mother was named after her and actually looks a lot like a picture I have of her.
