Hello Michael - I don't think so. She did have a sister Mary who was born in 1824 and her mother was a Mary Carroll. The surname was often spelled Feehely or even Fehilly. Sorry I couldn't help here.
My ancestor Bridget Fogarty daughter of william Fogarty and Mary Ryan Tullowmacjames married a Thomas Feeley from Clonmeen in 1930..his parents were Thomas Feeley and Mary Graham
Hello, thanks for the comment -- and my guess is that we are related, but who knows how far back. Clonmeen and Tullowmacjames are certainly townlands that I have come across in putting together my family tree, although mostly for more Ringwood-related line. Feeley was a fun one to research with all the various spellings (Fehilly, Fehely, etc.).
Searching for a Michael Feehily/Feehely who was a sponsor along with Margaret Boland when my 2nd great grandfather Edward Kennedy and wife Nancy Ryan had a son named Edward Kennedy baptized at Silvermines/Ballinaclough in 1842. I have a dna match, 22 cM, 4th-6th cousin, does not have any Kennedy's or Ryan's in their tree but he does have a Timothy Feehily 1785-1850 who may have had a daughter named Mary who m. a William Guilfoyle.
Hello MonasMoe,
We also have a DNA match who connects to the line of the William Guilfoyle who married Mary Feehely. However, this match is only 7 cM to my father, so definitely more distant than your match.
But the tree that has Mary's parents as Timothy Feehely and Anne Murphy is not correct. Timothy and Anne did have a daughter Mary in 1923, but the Mary Feehely / William Guilfoyle marriage took place in 1831, with their first child born in 1832. So Mary, daughter of Timothy, would have been too young to marry in 1831.
The marriage record between Mary "Fehilly" and William Guilfoyle was at Lisdaleen, Templetuohy on 24 Apr 1831 and had witnesses Timothy Byrne (or Ryan), Michael Fehilly, and Richard Brule (?) with all witnesses as being from Lisdaleen (very close to Templetuohy). This is about 30 km from Ballinaclough, so it would be difficult to know if this Michael F is the same as your Michael F. And I simply don't know who this Mary's parents are.
Still, it's certainly possible that Feeley (Feehely, Fehilly, etc.) may somehow be a relative.
