Born 1837 in Gortnamona, Abbey, Loughrea, Co Galway

Honoria married John Patrick Walsh in 1858 and lived at Killnamullaun, Kiltomer, Co Galway

She gave birth to 7 children, 4 sons and 3 daughters. In 1871, at the age of 34 and pregnant with her 7th child she became a widow

The following year she lost her youngest daughter and also married Patrick Fahy. Pat worked for John Walsh on the farm.

Honoria had known Pat Fahy and he had been her first choice for marriage but her family insisted she marry John Walsh as he was more prosperous.

Pat and Honoria had eight more children, 5 sons, 3 daughters and remained at Killmamullaun until Honoria’s oldest son Patrick Walsh inherited the farm at the age of 21.

They then bought a farm at Ballooly, Kiltomer and lived there for the remainder of their lives

Patrick’s twin brother John Walsh immigrated to America in 1886, married and remained in New Jersey. Another brother Denis Walsh immigrated to New York in 1885, married a Canadian girl and moved to Nova Scotia Canada.

Honoria passed away May 17, 1912 of heart failure. She sadly did not live long enough to meet her grandson who came to meet his Irish family during his time serving Canada during WWI
