In an old parish record fro Drumbulcan I found the first mention of my 2x great-grandfather Hugh Bell. He was born to William and Flora in May 13, 1810. The 1821 Census has the family in the Townland of Drumbulcan, parish of Derryvullan, Barony of Lurg. I have found various other tidbits from Irish records. The family migrated to Meadowvale, Ontario and settled there, sometime in the next decade or so. There is no trace of them in Ireland after the 1821 census except mention of Hugh and wife Susanah Dunbar's first child Matilda being born in Ireland. However, I have yet to find proof. I do find evidence of a marriage to Susanah registerd in Ontario. On my family website I document more thoroughly the life of Hugh and his family.
