Hugh McMahon was born in Ballee Parish, County Down in 1779. In 1832 he emigrated to the United States with his family, first to New Jersey, and then and from that place to Cherry Township, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania in 1833, settling on the farm near Dushore. He died in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania in 1852.

Michael (abt. 1820-1888), born in Ireland, who married Jane McCalley, and lived in Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania.
Mary Ann (1821-1904), born in Ireland, who married Patrick Brislin and lived in Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania.
Catharine, married a Mr. McMahon of Towanda, Bardford County, Pennsylvania.
