Migrated to/Born in UK

James Corrigan is the son of Patrick and Ellen Corrigan.  James Corrigan is my x3 great uncle.  James Corrigan was born in Cloone about 1831.  This is shown on his prison record when he was arrested in England.  James migrated with his parents and siblings Patrick, John, Nicholas, Peter and Mary Ann to Louth, Lincolnshire, England about 1849 - 1850.

James owned a beer house in Louth England called ‘Hole in the Wall.’ his early working life.  He married an English woman called Jane Summerland at Louth England in October 1857 following which he and Jane moved to Lincoln England where James opened a grocers store in Stamp End.  James was a bit of a rascal and was charged with having weighing scales in his store weighed in his favour as well as theft of coffee.

James did not have any children but did spend quite a lot of time looking after his nieces and nephews by his brother Peter. James Corrigan died in Lincoln England in Dec 1907 and is buried at Canwick Road Cemetery in the City.

Alternative spelling of Corrigan is Corigan
