James Curtin was my great great great grandfather.  He was born in 1792 County Cork, Ireland and died 15/09/1872 in St Sampson, Guernsey, Channel Islands.  He married Mary Dacy on 27/05/1824 in Ovens & Aglis, County Cork, Ireland.  They had 6 children:  Mary b1825, Michael Joseph bc1836, Thomas bc1837, James bc1839, John bc1841, Ellen (Helena) bc1843.  Of the children Mary seems to be the only one born in Ireland while the others are presumed to have been born in the London area of England prior to the family moving to the Channel Islands. Ellen was my great great grandmother, she married William Raymond in 1860 and they emigrated to Victoria, Australia in 1862 on the 'Ivanhoe'.
