James Gorman was probably born c1804 in Kilkenny, townland unknown.
James married 1836, Paulstown to Eleanor/Ellen Cahill of Low Grange.
Died Liverpool Lancashire, 1874
Children - Michael, Mary, Daniel, Catherine, John, Ellen, James, Catherine.
Sibs - John, Daniel, Bridget, Thomas.
I don't know for certain that the Gorman family always lived in Goresbridge, or possibly moved there from another townland. Probably the Cahill family had been in Low Grange for some time, but I have found nothing to show where James Gorman and his family lived before 1836 in either Kilkenny or even Co Carlow. I wondered if James' father moved to Goresbridge during the tithe wars disturbances.
Eleanor/Ellen Cahill was born c1814 at Low Grange near Goresbridge and died 1854 in a cholera epidemic in Liverpool, Lancashire. There were several Cahill families in Low Grange at the time, but I cannot find which one was Ellen's birth family.
